("Halalji," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Halalji customer app, the Halalji Driver app, the Halalji Manager app, and our website and related services (together, the "Services"). Halalji is a halal food and grocery delivery marketplace connecting customers, merchants, and delivery drivers.

1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account and contact details: your name, phone number, email address, and password or verification code used to sign in.
- Delivery information: delivery addresses, drop-off preferences, and any delivery notes or special instructions you provide.
- Order details: the items you order, order history, per-item notes, tips, and communications with merchants or drivers through the Services.
- Payment information: payments are processed by our third-party payment processors (Stripe and PayPal). We receive limited transaction information (such as confirmation, amount, and the last four digits or card brand) but we do not store your full card number or security code.
- Merchant/driver onboarding information: if you use the Driver or Manager apps, we collect information needed to operate your account, which may include business details, vehicle information, and documentation you submit.
- Support communications: messages you send us for customer support.
Information collected automatically
- Location data: With your permission, we collect precise device location to show nearby merchants, enable delivery, and provide live order tracking. For drivers, we collect location while the Driver app is in use and, where enabled, in the background during an active delivery, so that customers and merchants can track the delivery in real time. You can control location permissions in your device settings; disabling location will limit core delivery features.
- Device and usage information: device identifiers, device model and operating system, app version, push notification tokens, and diagnostic/crash information used to operate and improve the Services.
- Photos and media: where you choose to provide them — for example, proof-of-delivery photos taken by drivers, profile photos, or images uploaded by merchants.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and verify your identity.
- To process orders, payments, tips, and refunds.
- To enable delivery, dispatch drivers, and provide real-time order and delivery tracking.
- To send you order updates, receipts, and service-related notifications (including push notifications and SMS).
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services, including troubleshooting and analytics.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the Services:

- Access and correction: you can review and update your account information in the app.
- Deletion: you can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at privacy@halalji.com
- Permissions: you can control location, camera, photo, and notification permissions in your device settings.
- Marketing communications: you can opt out of non-essential messages while continuing to receive essential service messages.

6. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. International Data Transfers
We operate in Canada and may process and store information on servers located in other countries. Where we transfer information across borders, we take steps to protect it consistent with this policy and applicable law.
